Don't bother for a cheap one. Wait a few years and the y-full test will become cheaper. It will be able to give a good enough picture of how closely related you are to other members of your clan that belong to the same haplogroup.

IMO, not as useful as y-dna testing when it comes to discerning how different populations are related. That being said, I am a biased Patriarchalist.

N1a is a subclade of N1, maybe they did not identify what subclade of N1 you belong to. Just a guess. I don't know that much about MTDNA, I am a Y-Qabilogroupist.

I am mainly concerned with my Qabil's y-dna as a way of determining how members of my clan are related by blood. Not aiming to create division.

I have made this argument before.

If the TMRCA of the subclade that we and the Ayrabs belong to is much younger than 5000ybp, then this raises questions as to whether we are early- comers to North-East Africa. At some point in History, the Ayrabs and us had a common ancestor before going our separate ways. Either that ancestor was part of the Eurasian migration to the Levant and the split occurred in Neolithic times or he continued on to Arabia proper, and the split happened South of the Levant. The TMRCA would gives us better insight into the origins of the Haplogroup T Dirs and when we got to Africa.
