It was a joke.

But so this lineage is now found in Southwest Saudi & Kuwait.

Arab tribes in general are all over the place in M.E since the borders of modern Arab states were created by the colonialists who had no regard
to what tribe, ethnicity or religious sect lived where.

f*ck you im from Mudug
Don't bother for a cheap one. Wait a few years and the y-full test will become cheaper. It will be able to give a good enough picture of how closely related you are to other members of your clan that belong to the same haplogroup.

Ok, how much is the test now?

This is interesting. Is there a similar test to find out your full mtDNA sequence? I just got N1 on my 23andMe test, and it doesn’t say a lot.

*excuse my lack of knowledge*

Nobody in Somalia is of Arab descent.

Why do you seek to deny us an an Arabian heritage? We are related to the Ibn Dir, Brothers of the Saudis.:browtf:

The earliest recorded ancestor of the Al Saud was Mani' ibn Rabiah Al-Muraydi who settled in Diriyah in 1446–1447 with his clan, the Mrudah.[9] Although the Mrudah are believed to be descended from the Rabi'ah tribal confederation, it is unclear whether they trace their ancestry to the Banu Hanifa or the 'Anizzabranches of the Rabi'ah.[9] Mani was invited by a relative named Ibn Dir.

If Awoow had stayed in the Gulf, this could have been me.:mjcry:

That’s expensive subxanaaka yaa cadiim :drakelaugh:

I don’t understand why I only got N1 and not N1a which is what most Somalis get.
Btw, females rule the world :icon cool:

Do you really need to take another test as we have loads of maternal lineages? Waste of money walal.

N1a is a subclade of N1, maybe they did not identify what subclade of N1 you belong to. Just a guess. I don't know that much about MTDNA, I am a Y-Qabilogroupist.:mybusiness:

Depending on his mood, ask Amun, he might be able to help.

Are you crazy walal? Why would I buy the test when I already know what I am :bell:

So we’re going to categorise Somalis now based on their Y-DNA? :nahgirl:

I am mainly concerned with my Qabil's y-dna as a way of determining how members of my clan are related by blood. Not aiming to create division.

The non-East African part of Somali autosomes resembles Natufians the most, not Arabians. We Wuz either Ancient Egyptian or old Isrealites. Not ze Arabs.

I have made this argument before.

If the TMRCA of the subclade that we and the Ayrabs belong to is much younger than 5000ybp, then this raises questions as to whether we are early- comers to North-East Africa. At some point in History, the Ayrabs and us had a common ancestor before going our separate ways. Either that ancestor was part of the Eurasian migration to the Levant and the split occurred in Neolithic times or he continued on to Arabia proper, and the split happened South of the Levant. The TMRCA would gives us better insight into the origins of the Haplogroup T Dirs and when we got to Africa.

We Iz Not Necessarily Ancient Egyptians, you might be.

These are more snippets from the conversation. I apologise this was the only thread. The conversation happened at least 2-3 months ago. I don't use FB much so just saw it recently. Anyhow this is the rest of the conversation, I covered up some of the names except for the main guy for privacy:
