Somalia and its areas is the worst place for journalist over-all in the freedom of press index

For the following

1) Lack of basic rule of law and enforcement of the law. Journalist are imprisoned for vague and arbitrary penal codes and protections of them is not enforced even though all constitutions make lip-service to freedom of speech.

2) High degree of political corruption allowing journalist deemed a threat imprisoned

3) We have a culture, where niceties is more important than speaking the truth for which you can be ostracized

This is not Somaliland specific but a cultural problem, though Somaliland gets the media focus lately
