The interviewer makes it clear that the interview isn’t about her eyes, but about her hearing problems, which require expensive treatment abroad, possibly costing up to $5,000. The father is asking for help because the care she needs isn’t available in wadanka, and he cannot afford the treatment on his own.

Is the blue eyes the effect of some sickness the poor girl has? I heard people saying that

Hopefully the family gets the money they need to help her

*Not directed at you @Fobnimo Till I Dhimo in case you think I am aiming my comment at you.

I always cringe when I see Somalis and other Africans fawn over coloured eyes. We don't see Cadaans fawn over a typical Madow or Asian features popping up in their children. Ilaahoow ceebteena astur.
For that reason, I was very hesitant to post it, but I also thought maybe some of the Somali DNA experts here could shed some scientific light on this. However, you're right, there are many people like that.

Some genetic mutation or disorder most likely

Walahi waa naxa markasta, there was this Somali-Bantu looking boy with green eyes I saw on tiktok a while back, and this guy always posted videos of him, waa la yaabay . I always fear for these kids with these mutations.

Somalis carry some genes for light eyes & hair but it's very small percentage of our total genetic makeup

Wasn't there a Senegalese man who abandoned his wife for having blue eyes and passing it on to his children? From what I gather, there were taboos against indho buluug across various parts of SSA.

I wonder if, in a world free from yt worship, random folks with a medical condition would still be interviewed for having a trait specifically associated with our subjugators

** I’m literally that friend who’s too woke but idc :mjlaugh:
It’s a trait that is rare in Africans. Even if cadaans didn’t have different colour eyes, people would find it fascinating and would still want to interview her, laiis
