Vive la France. I am against Russia on this one. In France there is rule and law and democracy must be protected. They also put Sarkozy in jail for libyan affair which is correct sentence as well. Kudos to France for correcting two wrongs back to back within a short period of time. Very rare and brave acts.

That stems from Yankes waiting out until Germany took over France, de Gaulle continued the resistance while in the UK, US companies were supplying Nazi Germany and the allies throughout the war (their subsidiaries) De Gaulle never trusted the US since then, they've been militarily independent ever since, they make their own weapons, ships, tanks, and fighter jets.

He saw this as evidence that the U.S. couldn’t be fully trusted its economic interests might override commitments to allies, the french have kept this stance ever since and have had a plan B for this, most of the US fighters hard/software is being swapped out with french software and tech.
