Roughly around few decades back when The 2 Yemens unifying they started claiming that place Siyaad barre at the time trying to get into the Arab league was begged by other Arabs to not stop them since they were giving him weapons he started looking the other way as a thanks they would go on to arm rebel groups trying to over throw him.
That island falls into our sea territory there dick suckers on this site who argue it belongs to Yemen mainly the mj trash on this site they even use the excuse it had Arabs as if that triumph legal boundaries

The Island is connected to the Somali shelf, the plan should be to send Somalis there with goods and services and link the island to Somalia, then pay Yemen out or call for a referendum or both. The island is too valuable to give up.

Yemen is in a worse situation than we are right now if we have a good government I could see us taking it back since Yemen isn't a challenge anymore
