Kenya will likely default on its debt they can't afford to pay back.

Not a single tree it looks like a trash heap from afar.

imagine being a tourist looking out of the window of an airplane and seeing this. I would go back without even leaving the airport.

We still have a chance to skirt the malthusian trap we just need to regain our borders get some semblance of leadership everything we need is on our soil and waters.

If we can maintain a healthy population and not breed like rabbit we can reach a good quality of life for Somalia very fast.

It's much greener irl sxb. There are palm trees on every road and many parks in the city. It’s the sandy colors they have on their buildings that makes it look ugly tho. You should see Sharm-El-Sheikh, massive resorts surrounded by desert.

Kenya has the highest debt in East Africa, with a 70% debt-to-GDP ratio. They are unable to repay the debt, and they rejected the new finance bill 2024, which called for their government to tax the people excessively in order to payback their debt. As a result, they will probably default, which will be disastrous for their economy because Kenya's currency will be devalued due to a low exchange rate, which will cause inflation to soar and the people will not be able to afford for basic needs. loan lenders like China may seize control of important Kenyan infrastructure like ports and airports as a debt repayment. There won't be any more loans available for them, Also Direct investments will stop, and the government will become a failed state because it will not be able to pay its own projects and fees also Kenya has 50 million people which will double by the year 2050 a disaster in the making for East Africa which includes Ethiopia which is on the same route with Kenya.

Usa 🇺🇸 will rescue them 💪🏾 Kenya 🇰🇪 is important country for the world 🌍
United States President Joe Biden pledged to designate Kenya as a major non-NATO ally , which will make Kenya the first country in sub-Saharan Africa to hold the designation. This was during Kenyan President William Ruto's three-day visit to the US.

Yeah that's why I'm against Polygamy the government needs to pass a law forbidding men from marrying more than one wife.
Dalac bilaash somalia is the size of Texas with population of 30 million and gdp of $2.636 trillion is the second richest state after California, when thier is prosperity the population will increase and people will live longer, somalia will be langab if they don’t change tuulo habeel unuka leh the country is big enough to have 200 million people if we elected high iq people who can govern not like low iq chimpanzee Hassan gurgurte

I believe we have a better future than our neighbours since our population is small and unlikely to explode, which is excellent for the government's long-term viability. We will begin exporting oil, gas, and fish by 2025, and we will punch above our weight economically. But our neighbours lack these resources, and they have relied on foreign debts and handouts, which is coming to an end. However, they will also pose a threat to our national security because millions of unemployed people from these surrounding countries may be recruited and used as cannon fodder by extremist groups such as Al Shabab, thus strong border security will be required to address these challenges in the coming years.

Somalia is also debt free , it got debt relief and cancelled the remaining 2billion. It's a major win that cannot be understated.

Whats to our advantage is that all the oil, gas reserves, wind power and largest marine resources is in the safe area of Somalia, it's reachable at any given moment. Exploiting those resources successfully will be a way out dependencies and give finance capital to development without conditions and foreign interference. Economic development will give more room for peace and cooperation.

Alshabaab can easily be defeated in my opinion. You take out their logistics, manpower and finance they are finished. That's probably whats going to happen in the new coming months.

China definitely will seize Kenyan and other African countries like Ethiopia assets very soon as debt repayment.

Chinese govt is currently doing this to their own citizens as Chinese provinces are going bankrupt, it's local govt debt is 12 trillion. They are seizing business and assets.

Somalis should heed the signs on the wall in Kenya and starts slowly but surely take out their money and relocate their businesses . Also sell their properties, rent out real estate holdings in the city centers. That is if business climate changes drastically.

which will double by the year 2050 a disaster in the making for East Africa which includes Ethiopia which is on the same route with Kenya.

Ethiopia's disintegrations is inevitable and a necessary evil in my book. With the exception of Ogaden it's pretty much crumbled in terms of basic services housing, electricity, water and transport shortages , 60% unemployment and widespread hunger and poverty in Oromia, Amhara, Tigray etc. Political instability and poor governance hampering revenue collection, lack of legitimacy.

Ethiopia's debt overrall 28 billion, after Chinese debt relief of 1.3 billion it now owes china 13 billion in Debt and they just defaulted on payments.

Currently Ethiopia only has two options either maintain status quo i.e disintegration leading to all-out civil war with unimaginably devastating consequences or avert the violent bloodshed by opting for an orderly, negotiated breakaway to form independent nation-states.

The only way forward for us as a people is a federal style similar to the UAE, like roommates in an apartment, everything outside our rooms is a shared space and we act united outside of our apartment.

You are probably right. But not the current federal system, it needs to be tweaked.

The names of each federation need to rebranded or changed as well. Call it collectively ''The United Somali Republics'' or something.

Malthusian trap is the greatest fallacy in economics. In the long-term, all that matters is indeed population. Why do Western nations, in spite of clear hostility by the plebs, continue to bring in migrants? Why is Japan & South Korea, with one of high GDP in the world, yet they are literally in panic mode and the only thing that is discussed is their below replacement rate. Population is literally destiny. It brings in investment, capability, opportunity, labour. Short term issues are economics, politics, geopolitics but long-term it's *only* about demographics.

I used to think this would be the solution, but the reason why it works for them is because each state is a city-state while for Somalia, each gobol is larger than UAE probably threefold. Scalability really needs to be factored more in political discourse. IC has caused this with its semi-pseudo federalism while still being central. IC has two options imo: Split into three: SL, SSC + PL, South Central Somalia, Jubaland put under Kenyan control (if it isn't already). Or it gives us a new Somalia with all our regions and a new capital (I'd opt for several capitals such as South Africa. Qalafe to be the capital in West, Kismayo in South, Galkacyo as the main capital, Cerigaabo in the North). IC needs to decide between two radical policies if it truly wants to see a stable nation (ofc it doesn't so it won't and will continue this halfway house type federal-centralism which is a disaster).

But regardless of what happens, I do believe there needs to be a discussion on nomenclature within the Horn, which is practical because we can decide what we name what belongs to us for e.g.:

- Somali Peninsula: Horn of Africa, given we are so spread out in every part of the Horn, we deserve our name in its title. Maybe it'll be shortened to The Peninsula like

- Somaliweyn: Djibouti, Somalia, DDS, NFD

- Somalia (desperately needs a name change a thesis to show its federalism and (dis)unity such as Somali Maamuul Goboleed (colloquially known as S.M.G. just like USA is a thesis title, describing what America is).

- DDS: Should solely be referred to as Somali Galbeed, not Somali Itoobiya or anything else.

- NFD: Southern Juba, Azania, anything to reflect that it isn't North of Kenya but South of Somalia.

Naming is so important to reclaiming what is ours. Some may dismiss this as small-time issue but its a step towards sovereignty

Semi-Pseudo federalism is a better way to put the current system, i agree.

I think we can take inspiration from the UAE model but tweak it to fit our own context.

Even among the UAE the size differences is well accounted for. So i doubt that would be big problem for Somalia.
Although complexity of local government differs depending on size and development of each emirate, most (such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai, Sharjah and Ajman) have their own executive councils chaired by their respective rulers and possessing various departments reflective of federal ministries.
Some emirates such as Abu Dhabi may also be divided into two municipalities (the Western and Eastern regions) and its main cities of Abu Dhabi and Al Ain are also administered by their own municipalities with a municipal council. Abu Dhabi and Sharjah also have their own national consultative councils with similar local duties and role as the Federal National Council

Kenya sold its sole international airport to Indian billionaire Adani, who will take ownership of it in November.
The Billionaire promised to replace all of the Kenyan staff with Indian nationals and invest in new terminals.
The reason for this is that Kenya is selling valuable assets to pay off its enormous debt.
