Lazy new Somalis

My community isn’t that big, and we don’t get many new arrivals in my state, but this is more about Somalis living in larger Somali communities. My parents used to send remittances back home like everyone else, but now a lot of the people they used to receive money to have started arriving in the West.

Have y’all heard stories about some of these folks giving up on the “Western dream”?

The reason I ask is because my habar yaar mentioned that new Somali arrivals in places like Minnesota or Ohio have started talking about the large amounts of remittances they used to receive back in Somalia from family living in the West. But now, these new arrivals don’t want to work the long hours that older Somalis here used to in order to support people back home. They’re asking the older generation, “How did you manage to send money back and still support your own family?”

Nah sxb you need about 500k to live a good life. 100k won't last you that long if you have a wife and kids. Also you would have to start a business because you'll die working for others in Somalia

If you invest in stock like mutual founds sxb you can get there in 10-15 years but you have to invest like 1k each month. You really could have more money than that

Saving up is best, trust me. Other than that maybe finance hedge funds.

No not them they have the spirit of hustle . I am talking about the ones in America or Europe

I know, I am talking about them, they hustle like crazy here driving trucks and invest in Africa, the lazy ones I have seen are the ones that were born here or came here while young; they are the soft ones tbh

Walaahi people in africa are living like Kings and Queens. I have an aunt in africa who tricked me to send her 100 a month. After careful investigation i found out that she gets 400 $ a month plus my 100. I reduced it to 50 a month she almost had a hearth attack. She is lucky i did not make it zero. I want the dua from Allaah swt walaahi that is all. I hate tricks, lies and just plain sociopaths
