There are different numbers out there but I've read 3-5% of the general public are homosexuals. So I presume around that percentage mark, maybe 2-4% of Somalis are homosexuals, but since our culture doesn't tolerate homosexuality they are so deep in the closet.

An Athesit is far more likely to be accepted than a homosexual by Somalis (look at this forum where most people are cool with Atheits, but many are openly hostile towards gays).

I dont that last part of ur post is accurate. (In real life anyway) Eg; in the uk i reckon ppl wld not accept an atheist in the community. They wont try to kill u but they will treat u different to wen u were a muslim. Same goes for gays. They both wld socialise outside of the somali comunity. If they vocalised their lifestyle and believes in somalia i think they r both just as likely to get death threats.

I think the 5% figure is pushing it.

1% to 2% are genuine homosexuals with neurological or hormonal imbalances causing it.

More than that is not possible from a biological standpoint. For example, individual mental illnesses (like schizophrenia, bipolar, mental retardation etc.) also never reach over 2%. So why would homosexuality?

I feel bad for Somali gays. I wonder how 3rd generation Somalis will deal with their children coming out.

You're half right. But at least with Atheists I see light at the end of the tunnel. Homosexuals have it a lot tougher in terms of what the future holds for them amongst Somalis. In my experience young Somalis will befriend me even if I'm an Atheist. But they wouldn't if i was gay.

well your religious views don't effect them but befriending a homosexual is uncomfortable due to the fact he might try to have sex with them.
i wouldn't get changed in a changing room if a gay guy is in there for the same reason a girl wouldn't change if i was in there.

Tbh in all races gays are mainly friends with girls and other gay males anyway.

For me, if homosexual friend asked for my opinion i wld tell this lifestyle is haram and not healthy, larkin ultimatley its their business but i wld b friends with them gay or lesbian. Infact i think i wld perfer to b friends with a gay male rather than a striaght male. I believe in platonic friendships striahht males and females.
