I know this may seem far-fetched, but does anyone share the vision of Somalia becoming a great power in this century? The only things that are holding us back are qabiilism, weak-minded politicians who kiss the feet of foreigners. If we unite and have strong military and economy, in the long-term we could potentially dominate east africa, yemen and the indian ocean which would serve our interest of becoming a first-class nation that's well respected.

I do share the vision that Somalia one day will be great or rather hope so, I just dont see how it is going to happen realistically speaking.
We are only fooling ourselves entertaining the idea of uniting when we know reality wouldn't let it happen.
What can we unite upon? we have more reasons not to, so how can we at the given time?

Exactly brother, diaspora Somalis need to stop opening crappy hotels and restaurants back in Somalia, they should invest in more productive light-manufacturing industries like clothing etc. But thats going to require government assistance which is non existent.

Yep, for now though we need to get rid off al-shabab and the weak politicians. Plus, Turkey is slowly turning somalia into a puppet state, we can be on good terms with the Turks but we need to keep them at an arms length at the same time.

If we do have untapped resources that will be a bonus. We can sell oil and other resources to finance the purchases of machinery for Somali industry. We could also encourage foreign companies to collaborate with Somali start-up companies in key sectors. The current gov't has no real sense of direction and they're bunch of time wasters.

Instead we should focus on economic development and raising our living standards. We need to look inwards instead of outwards. These grand schemes serve nobody. Yes of course economic development should be a top priority. I dont want Somalia to literally occupy other countries, but to be a leader in the region.

I'd focus more in uranium (if we have it) since Somalia will become like Saudi Arabia who's economy is dependent on oil. If Somalia adds to the oil market, the price of oil will drop significantly.
Uranium will benefit the world since it is cleaner than any fossil fuel and has many uses.
