I'd focus more in uranium (if we have it) since Somalia will become like Saudi Arabia who's economy is dependent on oil. If Somalia adds to the oil market, the price of oil will drop significantly.
Uranium will benefit the world since it is cleaner than any fossil fuel and has many uses.

True, however the aim is to modernise our economy so we will need to sell natural resources to get income in the short term, but we need to invest that money straight back into infrastructure and creating a manufacturing base and encourage somali investors/businessmen to put their money into new industries. Basically we need government and private sector co-operation and co-ordination to rebuild and modernise the economy.

I know this may seem far-fetched, but does anyone share the vision of Somalia becoming a great power in this century? The only things that are holding us back are qabiilism, weak-minded politicians who kiss the feet of foreigners. If we unite and have strong military and economy, in the long-term we could potentially dominate east africa, yemen and the indian ocean which would serve our interest of becoming a first-class nation that's well respected.

I believe our country is the way it is today because of people who have no hope for it. Our country relies in us, it's people.
