Living in an Arab country?

If we compare ourselves to other African nations we're doing well. It's better to look at through that lens. We don't have many italian or English loan words when you consider that. I hear Djiboutian Somali has a lot more French and Arabic in it but that's a small region of Somali speakers so it shouldn't threaten us too much. I think it is still fairly mutually intelligible with standard Somali.
Yh we're in a significantly better position language wise then majority of african countries my most recent thread did a deep dive on that

My cousin lived in Eygpt. He's very light skin though so he gets mistaken as Eygptian. I'm not sure if Eygpt is an option. I'm hoping I can apply for a European place of study with a foreign languages department. That would be the ideal. I'd like to be able to visit home easily.

What is 6 october?
Its a city on the outskirts of Cairo, its technically a part of Cairo but people view it as its own independent city... It had a sizeable somali community back in the days and were mostly diasporas from western countries that were trying to learn Arabic too and live in a Muslim country

To be honest as for the future of the Somali Language, it will remain as the Most Dominant in the Somali Peninsula for centuries to come for sure, given the Historic Linguistic Resilience of Somali.

In Western Countries however not sure to be honest, it hard to find a Somali born after 2005 that speaks Fluent Somali and as time moves on I think that number will lower unfortunately but Somaliweyn is fine for now, if only Somalis recognized their blessed advantage many African Nations struggle with

No I love somali, I'm just explaining why there's this obsession with knowing arabic among Somalis. It's associated with islam, the Quran and the prophet, all. Very prestigious things. I highkey hate how much somali has become a mix of somali, italian, Arabic etc.
Sheegaato alert. Since when does reer SL use Italian words?

We don't live in Somalia so dialects are not as clear cut as they used to be. People pick up vocabulary off the Internet. This is a phenomena you see in every diaspora group. Also as Cunug3aad said, she's talking generally most likely.
