I know that loan words exist in every language which is fine but in Somali we use loan words for certain words when we have the Somali equivalent

It's the same for many if not most languages.

Whenever a loanword becomes very popular it simply overtakes the previous word. Just look at English, all the 'higher status' words (i.e sounding posh) are of French origin.

The issue we have is people back home deliberately using foreign words straight up to signal their status as people who had a education abroad or went outside the country.
