Nigeria is actually a lot like India. It's actually the most polluted country and it's a place where frauds/scams are extremely rampant, it's actually worse than Egypt in this sense because they export it abroad. Like 51% of all cyber scams originate from there
It really is just desperation by poor people who don't have alternative ways of economic mobility, like she said about beggars. This is 100 due crony capitalism and lack of wealth distribution, a very small minority monopolize most of the wealth in the country.
It also has a large slum that live on top of a polluted river, 70% of Lagos population and the over population problem makes things worse. This is due their government in many ways.
