What has the WB survey got to do with this document? When you said WB clarified, I thought the writers of that survey rectified something. They did not even touch the poverty survey.

As for the exclusion, they mean Puntland was not taken in this document due sampling issues. The graph in that paragraph only assesses SL and Mogadishu.

They didn’t take PL into account because of the extreme poverty and lack of population.

Puntland population is barely 2 million while SL and Somalia are both 4 million +

In 2015 Somalia’s GDP per capita was estimated at US $450, making it the fifth poorest country in the world. Income per capita income is 20 to 40 percent higher than GDP per capita due to remittances (Somalia Economic Update, 2017. The World Bank has estimated subnational GDP of Somali states, with Somaliland’s GDP about at US $1.6 billion in 2012 and Puntland’s at US $1.3 billion in 2010 (Somalia Economic Update 2017).

Puntland GDP 1.3 billion in 2010. Somaliland GDP 1.6 billion in 2012? 2 year difference, I still doubt these figures in my view anyways and believe the port of bosaso is the most active in the region and supplying regions as far as hiiraan to burco to erigavo and all Puntland.

What trade does SL have besides hargeisa and jigjigga which is shared between djibouti. SL GDP is not that large and I don't see any reason to believe it is.

I've just read this report.

So nowhere in the report are they contradicting the original study, they're simply saying theres a sampling problem and thats the reason why PL is left out.

Puntland has no industries, their airports are a joke with no respectable airline flying there. Hargeisa alone has a population half the size of the entire Puntland

What I find amazing is none of our big diaspora business-men have really even invested in Puntland. It's purely our local business men and it's activity VS SL utilizing it's diaspora and locals loooool yet their pretty much the same GDP wise. Imagine when our diaspora business men come in WOWWWWWWWW, it will be a landslide.

Mind you SL is 5 states. half is harti they are calculating, so it's not even all IDOR GDP.

Well this thread didn’t turn out how OP expected :chrisfreshhah:. The truth does indeed always come out.

The very reason why Puntland can’t recapture Tukaraq is poverty lol PL can’t afford to feed and clothe their soldiers :pachah1:or pay them either :mjlol:

And you guys also realize the reason why Puntland was excluded here was because you guys are too poor :russ:

Somaliland has up to 63% poverty rate, potentially higher than mogadishu.

Poverty rate is less than 38% in Puntland

NE = North East = Puntland

That’s true, there was a puntland soldier few days ago saying he nearly starved to death

Just look at the IDP camps in PL look far better living standards then in hargeisa or mogadishu. Compare our IDPS against they're IDP living conditions. That says enough

What I love about Puntland is. We don't help each other locally, like everyone does his own thing. But on the outside, we all come rushing to defend the state as one when assaulted by outsiders.

there was a report made early 2000s saying IDPs in Bosaso were luxurious compared to Hargeisa is that one wrong too?:liberaltears:

Did you even read both the report?:ivers:
