Jowhar began to farm rice back in the late 1960's, imported seeds from the Philippines to which was perfect for our season, became well adapted unlike Chinese seeds which failed to adapt to our climate.

It's a shame to see that we import rice, sugar, pasta, fruit and vegetable when we can grow them all locally.

Some who lived in the towns and especially along the coast were civilised and dressed like the Arabs or the Europeans they encountered via trade or in Somalia. We can't go back to those days. What do you mean by that? That convention only applies to Muslims and I thought you were a non-Muslim. The idea of nudists having their own country appeals to me, clothes and the embarrassment of showing private parts is a social construct that's now deeply ingrained in our psychic.

As for the hijab, you won't find a manual for hijab in the Koran, it says cover your private parts and bosom. It was intended for pagan women who used to roam Mecca including the Ka'ba bare chested. That is how the total control of female identity by Islam began.
