Madow hair is underrated (Bring Back the Afro rant)

Or Afro or whatever you know what I mean, whatever y’all wanna call it. I don’t understand why it gets so much hate it’s such random trait to have been ganged up on smh. I personally love it (especially on men as a woman) n I’m lowkey timojileec.

I think all the hate it gets is just conditioning even in the western world. Wasn’t afro hair a huge phase in the 1970s, literally everyone had an Afro even Bob Ross (he used to perm his hair and the style stuck)

People with 4a-4c hair were happy with it back then because the attitudes were different. Try convincing me that weaves/relaxed hair is better than this

The world is a much happier and better place when everyone accepts their god given beauty, we need a cultural reform of all black people to appreciate afro/Madow hair like back then. The 70s is one of my fav eras cuz it seemed there were so many simultaneous movements/figures that related to embracing/accepting the self and rejecting the “status quo” such as this Afro trend and for cadaan people there was the hippies :chrisfreshhah: People were way more free spirited back then I’m sooooooo jealous because now everyone wants to be a corporate slave or a carbon copy of an insta celeb, almost no in between smh. No original thought, creativity or revolutionary trends/movements anymore smh

Something i dislike about Islamic and even Christians Africans is whenever they go closer to God they seem to think getting a buzz cut will bring them to heaven

Facts I totally agree Cushitic hairstyles are unbeatable 💯 we also need to re-embrace as well it’s sad there’s so much shame for Somali men who grow their hair longer than an inch (atleast as far as I’m aware in my own family) it’s insane lol. My cousin basically got kicked out for getting braids 🤦🏾‍♀️😂

I haven’t grew an Afro since high school. it was Kinda annoying cause I had non black folks keep touching and so amazed by it. After high school just never bothered

I don't understand why black hate their hairs, they treat it like disease. They have been brainwashed that their nappy hair isn't appealing to society & that they need to mold our hair into a texture that was never theirs. It is like a black person bleaching their skin. Black need to embrace their God given hair and stop wearing wigs.

Its because frankly there isn't a single ideology on earth that panders to black people, These people I posted above do their hair due to their ancient traditions which were made for them.

When you throw black people in this globalised white worshipping world and strip them of their culture what do you expect?

This is not about ideology, wearing wigs and weaves is a recent phenomenon . The horn people are proud of their hair and colour although they have been interacting with middle east and Europe for thousands of yrs

People that wear wigs are usually Christian Africans in the west, Interaction has been happening for many years but usually it seeped into the culture. Even then we are seeing the effects of radicalism on our culture

Non of these pictures are Somalis? At least try to post or include Somalis In them next time 😂

On a related note, why do people here complain about Somali kids being forced to have short hair? Every Somali kid I know has medium to long hair. I’ve only seen 3 kids with short hair. You guys must still be living in the 2000s or something. I know plenty Somali guys that have hair that reached their shoulders, mashallah. Even at the mosque, they usually have their hair long & curly or they grow out their hair & get dreads.

Cuz I’m showing example how even in the west it was normal to have Afro back (to prove my point the distaste is about condition) even cadaans had afros look at Bob Ross. That was my point smh

I used to really dislike my hair but I’ve come to accept it.
