These are kids representing their country at a continental tournament. It is a privilege for them to be there. They worked hard to qualify for this and to do this is just a disgrace.

The most ironic thing about this situation is that there are many foreign scouts at this tournament, this is really their best chance to look for a better life. The U17s have a chance to qualify for the World Cup in Qatar too, where every team from around the world will be watching and you have the chance to play against England/France/Brazil/Argentina/Germany etc.

Now these kids who were caught will be struck off, sent home and probably have no future in Somali football either. Just a bunch of idiots.

I can’t believe I used to feel shitty about my appearance, family, mental health, friends, relationships, sexuality I can honestly go on, there is someone out there who can take all these problems in a heartbeat. There is a popular tahriib route circulating around reer Mogadishu right now: “Morocco to Spain”. This is supposed to be the easiest way to tahriib right now: apparently there are additional routes to Germany and England from there which you can follow.

The team are in Casablanca, so it is not a long drive up to Tangier.

At least it sounds safer than Libya
