Make dua a habit in your life!

One thing we sometimes forget is that we need to ask Allah for everything—literally everything. Whether it’s something massive like getting married, finding a job, or making it to Jannah, or something tiny like finding your lost keys, never hesitate to make du’a.

The Sahabah (رضي الله عنهم) had this mindset on another level. They relied on Allah so much that if their sandal strap broke, they would ask Allah to help them replace it. That’s real tawakkul—fully believing that everything is in Allah’s hands, and nothing happens without His will.

Why You Should Ask Allah for Everything

Nothing is too small – If the Sahabah asked for a sandal strap, why wouldn’t you ask for something simple?

Nothing is too big – Whether it’s dunya or akhirah, Allah is capable of anything. Just ask.

Du’a shows humility – You’re acknowledging that you have no control, and only Allah does.

Fear the future? Make du’a. Uncertain about what’s ahead? Put your trust in Allah and ask for His guidance.

Want something badly? Make du’a. If it’s good for you, Allah will give it. If not, He’ll replace it with something better.

How to Strengthen This Habit

Make du’a your first reaction – Before stressing, before calling someone for help, before even overthinking—raise your hands and ask Allah first.

Be sincere – Don’t just say words. Mean it. Beg Allah like you truly need Him.

Make du’a for every situation – Whether it’s a life-changing decision or just wanting to wake up for Fajr on time.

Trust that Allah hears you – He may not answer in the way you expect, but He will answer in the way that’s best for you.

Allah literally says: "Call upon Me; I will respond to you." (Surah Ghafir 40:60)

So don’t sleep on this. Ask Allah for everything. Big, small, easy, difficult—just ask. You’ll never lose by making du’a, but you’ll definitely lose by not making it.

If you keep asking people, they get annoyed, they get tired of you, and eventually, they may even refuse to help. But if you don’t ask Allah, He gets angry.

Ibn Taymiyyah رحمه الله said:

"The creation is such that the more you ask them, the more they dislike you. But Allah— the more you ask Him, the more He loves you."

And the Prophet ﷺ said:
"Whoever does not ask Allah, He becomes angry with him." (Sunan al-Tirmidhi 3373, Hasan)

This shows how different our relationship with Allah is compared to people. People are weak, they have limits, and they don’t like being constantly depended on. But Allah is Al-Ghani (The Self-Sufficient), Al-Kareem (The Most Generous)—no matter how much you ask, He never runs out of giving, and He never gets tired of hearing you.

So never hold back in making du’a. The more you ask, the more beloved you become to Allah. Du’a is not a burden; it’s an honor.
