Black is not a cultural or ethnic classification. A Jamaican doesn’t have the same culture as a Nigerian who doesn’t have the same culture as a Tanzanian.

I think the problem that bothers Somalis so much is that they never understood what the 'black' label truly meant. Darkskins and lightskins with type 4 hair usually accept and claim the black label.

Darkskins with jileec hair say they are only Somali.

Then the lightskins who ALSO have jileec hair always try to claim Arab heritage

It's more complicated than that for example, somalis who came to the uk were bullied by west africans and jamaicans for having a "foreign culture" and a "different look". In this country it helps to have allies. We’re not back home where we can do our own thing and not care about others.
