but that doesn't mean they controlled our land, they struggled in zeila alone and got destroyed many times
How did they cross Somali territory And they reached the northeast Then they crossed over to Socotra Maybe even Christian Somalis were with them Because this is in the eighth century, not all Somalis were Muslims at that time

Finally got around to making a detailed thread going over the conquests & territorial extent of the Aksumite Empire between the 3rd and 6th centuries AD.

They had zelia paying tribute and maybe occupied it for a little bit. That was the most they got into somali territories.
They controlled yemen sure but Sudan is a joke.

I may hype up Horn African history & all but that map is exaggeration brother. Still, Aksum is definitely the โ€œRomeโ€ of the Horn, it is annoying how some habeshaโ€™s think that only they can claim it even tho it was a multi-ethnic empire.

I could only select modern day regions in countries today which compromises the map a little, hence the east coast of Egypt, but it's still mostly accurate.

akzum even had kunama nilotic kings but sadly their history was erased by habesha, their king is buried in akzum

No wonder it looks so exaggerated. If it was more of a custom map you could cut out the modern borders.

This is the northernmost point King Gadarat reached in the 3rd century after conquering Yemen. This is 200 years before King Kaleb & Abraha.

The lands of north of Najran the Axumities never ruled it as Abraha forces was crushed by the Hejazi arab tribes in Mecca
That post is talking about the conquests of a king Gadarat, 200 years before Abraha bro, the Aksumites ruled the red sea coast of Arabia from 200-270 AD, archaeologically verified.

I don't he and his sons ruled the red sea but he had considerable influnce in Southeren Arabia politics allying and giving support to various yemeni factions that led to Aksum direct invasion of Yemen years later

There's Yemeni inscriptions mentioning his army's presence there in the late 2nd century early 3rd century. He was playing the feuding Yemeni kingdoms off eachother & eventually took over the region until 270 when Himyar started taking back the peninsula.

It was once he secured Yemen that he went northwards up to the Sinai peninsula subjugating the minor kingdoms along the way, forcing them to pay tribute.

Here's a text that talks about his sons trying to curb the growing Himyarite expansion by sending reinforcements but failing.

This book is 30 years old so it is missing a ton of information found in the last couple decades.
