The issue in DDS isn’t to do with resistance to Somali cooperation. My mums side of the family is from Hawd. Many of my clansmen there were fighting for the WSLF, it’s well-documented, but there was only a few fighting for ONLF. It’s not like SL, the sentiment hasn’t changed from then to now. Nobody’s going to fight for a movement that they aren’t a part of.You need to organise and lead your people, the most resistance towards Somali cooperation comes from your people. But the trouble we have, is that most Somali men, are waiting for someone else to rise up and lead them. Be the hero you want to follow.
I wish I could be the one to change things, but ultimately it’s out of my control. It isn’t my homeland but I wish I could just speak some sense into them. This situation feels a lot like early 2023, disagreements that get put aside to fight the common enemy.
