Mogadishu is the most densely populated city in the world

The real number is actually lower than that , because they are counting people displaced on the outskirts of Mogadishu. A lot of which are in the process of being resettled or returned.

Makes sense that IDPs are inflating the population of the city inshallah they return back to their farms or nomadic life and help our country become food secure in the future

That’s interesting. Whenever I go, I don’t think it’s packed at all unless you go to the beach on friday or bakara market.

There's this foreigner who went and walked through the streets. It’s really not busy at all, that's how I felt. (skip to the 6min mark)

Yeah it really isn't really that crowded at all and the city has expanded in size with them currently building out newer areas and residential neighborhoods.

There is also 3 new districts that been recognized.

But the online foreign reports count the same distance as it had before when in reality it has expanded in total length and width. So the city covers more ground than before as well.

So it's a not a bunch of people being crammed into the same area.

Population approximately 2.8 million around 33k people per KM @El Nino population has grown by over a million the past decade
this isnt the worst thing in the world high density pops are good if they work and develop it thats how cities become powerful

Tokyo, 37 million people. Almost as many people as all of Canada combined. Seems like an overgrown concrete jungle nightmare.

Population density doesn't necessarily have to do with population number. Just look at how expansive the city of Tokyo is, it's massive, as the population grows they expand outwards into other areas.

It stretches several miles. It will probably take a long while to reach from one end of the city into another if you drive by car.

Density has to do with how many are packed into a single space.
