Somalia to open new flight info center today. Self-funded by air navigation service charges collected on behalf of Somalia by the UN, centre will take over managing airspace and provision of air navigation services within wks from ICAO which controlled Somalia airspace since 1992

I bet the warlords in the 90s who were fighting for the control of the ghost airports in Mogadishu didn't even know that ICAO was eating good in the sky while they were fighting over pennies in the land. Naclad

This is good and its an added bonus it came at the expense of the kenyan government since they will not be receiving any more cash out of an airspace that doesn't belong to them.

But is anyone not concerned with how the government will be handling this sudden influx of cash?

1.1 million a month with a potential of 50 million per year is absolutely no joke.

Hopefully the farmaajo administration uses it for social programs for the citizens and developing damaged or unused areas.

I'm tired of seeing new Parliament Buildings being built every couple of months.

That will come in time. Recovery happens slowly when an entire society dissolves into chaotic clan ruled towns and regions. It was recovery by regions first, now it is time for institutions to recover as well that represent Somalis in the collective.

I do understand those who want their clan to reign supreme will have issues with the Somali cause, but that Somali cause is more supreme and higher than what a clan wants. No matter how long it takes, the future of every country belongs to those who espouse higher visions than narrow clan interests.

No educated Somali who traveled the world, and who lived in systems where fairness, equality, merits and vision rule the day will settle for less. And I am not here to argue with people who represent their clan agenda to the exclusion of the Somali interests. I have neither respect for them nor care what they think should happen to Somalia since their views are narrow and ignorant. I don't give a f*ck about their thoughts. Just stating the obvious and where things are headed. Slowly, all corrupt old men will die and burn in hell, the younger generation will take over and they must be civilized enough to oversee a country that is united and for Somalis.

Don't bother me with clan emotions for I don't give a f*ck about a clan agenda. I would murder an entire clan to save Somalia.
Sit your ass down Jean Claude Van Damme, I don't care who you would murder, clan rules Somalia and will continue to rule it for a long time. I don't want my chartered plane to hit another cause some incompetent monkey was given an air traffic controller's job by his cousin that's the reality of Somalia today and the reason it is unfit to manage this project. They can't manage the ground, they certainly shouldn't manage the skies but hey if you want your hubris to kill more people then go well ahead

Civil Aviation Servants were being trained for the take over. This is one job your cousin farah doqon can not just walk in and do it. You have to be trained first to communicate with pilots around the world in your airspace and land them safely if they are inbound among other things. If that person happens to be professional but of a different clan, so be it. I don't care.

I am not celebrating for somalia to regain what is its right as a country. Don't be offended by what the world considers be yours too as a Somali. Remember, no country outside somalia will identify you as your clan but as a Somali. If your parents did not teach you that about yourself, welcome to your reality.

I want Somali officials to use this as an exercise of goodwill to their society and have all clan regions participate without disrespecting Somali sovereingity. Anyone delusional enough to think their tribe is more important than Somalia, well, that speaks to their stupidity.

This is true for all Somali regions and Somali run businesses and institutions. But at least in this profession, you can't let some dude with no skills of communication take the console and call in a message. You need:

A- Language Other than Somali
B- Some knowledge of basic math to communicate distance
C- Sight , to actually be able to see something

Despite the person selected to do this job's clan, If they meet the criteria and can handle the air control tasks, we should be fine with it.

Aan ku Waydiiyee saxib, today in Hargaysa, don't they have their own air traffic control? The guys who run there come from the local clans and that should not be a disqualifier if they are doing their job.

A Somali is the worst enemy other Somalis have. The worst put downs come form other Somalis. Mother fuckers can't even believe the kind of job I do because they think my job is too good for me and that I am not educated enough to do what I do. The first question they ask me is whether I am a driver for the institution I work for when I mention where I work. It never occurs to them THAT a Somali can achieve something good, and when a Somali does achieve a goal that is noble, they resent. All these clan topics started lately are out of resentment to what Somalia gained even though Somalia is still powerless because of itws own sons and daughters that let it down every fucking day the sun rises.

Leave it to a Somali to put down their own kind so bad that foreigners feel bad for Somalis.

ALL OF YOU ON THIS SHITHOLE, HAVE SOME SELF RESPECT FOR YOURSELVES. YOU ARE ALL LOW CLASS INDIVIDUALS AND THE POR REFELCTION OF A FAMILIES YOU ALL HAIL FROM.

We shouldn't be discouraged by the facts on the ground that are not perfect. The Local clans running their city in their own corrupted way is better than an occupying force to run their affairs for them. Some lose and some win in a corrupt clan based systems. Qabiil is a disease. We pray and hope things speed up towards just dealing among Somalis.

Here is all information you need about Egal Internaitonal Airport of Hargeysa. It is run by Somali professionals with the help and equipment provided by NGOs/Amisom. News to me too. But you can read up all you need on this link below.
