Mogadishu Textiles in the 1300s Century

The people whom Ibn Battuta mentioned when he visited the city wore Somali nomads clothes
Nope , urbans attire was always distinct to attire of ahlul badw only groups of nomadic origin dressed in their original attire . There's a reason people used distinguishing titles like "lamagoodle"

if benadir brought alindi then they should be able to provide on where they got it from 🤣
Selt proclaimed civilised peopled before the lamagoodle cured his allergy of the coast didn't write a single document about their invention of half of Somali dhaqan. Niggas will see a group of Somali farmer in hararghe with no contact to the coast and will say every cuisine and clothes they have came from them even though those somalis don't even know they exist 😂

This benaadiri guy is a hater don't mind him. Note how the burden of proof is always pushed on you while they don't bother to provide any sort of evidence to prove their point. So let me get this straight first it was lamagoodle don't know how to work with textiles and now the new argument is "Nah dawg, it's different yall. It ain't the same g you feel me!"

I remember reading that most costal inhabitants much like the ones in the interior didn't work with artisanal craft and had a special class handle the work.

In the case of barawa and the alindi @Shimbiris already talked about it and who manufactured it, that is to say the tunni somali that are native to barawe.

In Koonfur it was largely the Tunni, as you can see above, who went around being masons and, from what I grasp, they were not shunned or treated as "out-caste" for it unlike the Madhiban. This is why all the coastal towns along the Somali coast from Saylac down to Barawe have an absurdly similar look that is ridiculously uncanny yet different from the coastal towns in Yemen and Oman where, in the former case, the builders were largely very skilled Jews and Indians.

Mashallah. The noble Banaadiri people contributed a lot to somali culture. One being attire.

Alindi, koofi Baraawe etc were all brought to somalia by the noble banaadiri people. Shame they dont get recognition for the contributions they have made to the Somali nation.
Those are the work of gibil madow, tunni and other southern qabil who invented and did textile stop with the inferiority complex this all Lamagoodle
