The reason why he was not lynchend by the mob in Kismayo staying at a hotel as Caydiid‘s envoy and Vice President was because that would divide the clan. He has been arrested by every Puntland administration. Few years ago he was leading a march at the famous barxada. He spent most time in Hargaysa where he exiled himself and was seen as a one man rebellion against Puntland as he believes in only Bari, parts of Mudug and Nugaal to be Puntland and considers SSC region as Somaliland. He also was along with Omar Jees one of the Darood family and was even named as his VP. But then again Abdullahi Yuusuf travelled to Muqdisho to become Caydiid's PM in 1994 but that did not happen partly because Caydiid objected to that proposal.
