After fighting for a long time but they became overpowered because
* No one was fighting Europe in Europe, so they had their hand's free
* The Europeans made pacts between themselves on who colonized which region of Africa so they wouldn't fight between themselves
*All the Africans were being colonised at the same time so they couldn't help one another

So when WW2 broke out and Europe finally had a war on their hands, they had to leave the colonial project behind. WW2 was so bad they had recruit help from the colonised countries and probably with the promise of freedom.

The only major resistance seen was from the Muslims who fought colonizers as Christian invaders like the Yoruba (the few Muslim who are Yoruba) in West Africa for the sake of the religion. Somalis are of course the exception.

They're not kissing white feet, they just have corrupt leadership who earn tens of millions a year and more if they keep the money in white hands. Regular South Africans hate white people hand have chased them out of 50% of their farms through violence.

That is why I left out Somalis, they are tribal people. Abyssinia and Nubia(Northern part of Sudan) and other places in Africa
though obviously had a older old civilization prior to the colonization hence were more organized and were able to stand their ground.
