I guess the practice is not widely adopted there.

I mean over here, Masjids regularly incorporate a "community centre" aspect to their facilities.

They also implement a lot of camps, family events and social activities to make sure the kids come to the masjid.

You're not telling me Masjids in Europe have only just started doing this.......

Nearly every masjid in Australia has programmes like this.

:kanyehmm:

Nope, its a recent wave here but its in its infancy. The masjid is just a place to pray salaat jimco for many youths. My local masjid does not do any activities for youth.
Only one place has programs like in the picture for youth is the cities youth branch. They have a indoor space in every neighbourhood in Helsinki. Its a great thing to have but also a magnet for ciyaalsuuqs.

For us in Australia, the masjid is a community area that we happen to pray at.

Some masjids here have equipped gyms or even simple stuff like table tennis tables and video games. It has really helped the community as even cultural muslims I know still go to the masjid because they feel its a safe place they relate to.

In London, its usually Ramadan that these types of activity occur. Taraweeh has a high youth participation for that reasons, 1AM football session doesn't come with its own problems. It causes ciyal suuqs to not go home. More is needed over time.

Dayum, we too broke to do that over here, maybe a playstation, but anything else, we have no space, our masjids aint that big. Only few masjids function as community centres which is a shame.

Luckily sports are cheap here so young boys have something to do but lately what I have seen it would be better if the community offered it.

Tbh Aussies can’t play football except Harry kewell

We're good at football laakin we have a corrupt FA. It's run by the family that own Westfield malls.

It is a well-known fact in Australia that playing competitive football can only be done by the middle to upper class because of the registration costs for families and corruption.

Also, Harry Kewell? What about Tim Cahill. SAF himself admitted he wanted to sign him.

if they only put women in charge or at least as operational manager, most masjids would change for the better.

Dirty Tim was only good with his head and was a proper cvnt. But yeah I didn’t know that about your fa. On paper you have the weather, money and infrastructure to do well with football

It is the most played team sport in the country but Australians have largely given up on Australian football. We just watch the Premier League/La Liga and pray Australia don't get embarrassed at the World Cup.
