Your boy king got to save face getting a commercial deal in line with the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea. Celebrate the deal you were offered before you tried to blackmail us.
The people are cursed unfortunately. 33 years of chaos and instability, with no end in sight. Why doesnt anyone in Somalia care? You know what's really funny. All the Somalis who were kissing the ass of Turkey. They even made Somali songs lauding Turks:
Somalia is cursed.
Djibouti belongs to France. Ethiopia is not allowed to touch it. Somalia however will be carved up real soon. Ethiopia will have a navy base to themselves. This is an Ethiopian W. Their end goal was Red Sea access, and regardless, they forced it to happen. We will wait and see what Somalia charges them for it. I'm guessing it will be cheaper than Djibouti.

Before you get too excited, where does it say the MoU was withdrawn?
It's dead broski. Their whole argument was they questioned Somalia being one. Now they acknowledge it.But we somalis are not out of the woodwork yet. We'll see in february what kind of commercial deal they want. The leaders of Somalia and Ethiopia reaffirmed their respect and commitment to one another's sovereignty, unity, independence and territorial integrity, as well as the principles enshrined in international law.

They did not. They questioned Somalia’s territory, and refused to acknowledge it.Ethiopia has been saying that the whole time. What changed?
Ethiopia refuses to recognise Somalia as a sovereign neighbouring country," Somalia president said Saturday during an address to the nation.
"Until it recognises the sovereignty of Somalia, we cannot talk about a sea or any other thing.

That briefing Abiy gave to his parliament where he used provocative rethoric doesn't mean shit. "If Somalia wants to talk they can come to addis" fk out here. The tweet I posted is from an article in July.
God damn he really bent his black ass overEthiopia has been saying that the whole time. What changed?
MOU is not dead sxb. I’m afraid @Itsnotthateasy is right. Ethiopia is playing it’s 2 naago off each other. That briefing Abiy gave to his parliament where he used provocative rethoric doesn't mean shit. "If Somalia wants to talk they can come to addis" fk out here.
At what point did Ethiopia ever admit to not respecting sovereignty? That briefing Abiy gave to his parliament where he used provocative rethoric doesn't mean shit. "If Somalia wants to talk they can come to addis" fk out here.
Damiin far weyn kuugu dhigaa. They signed the MoU saying we don't recognise Somalias territory as one. Today they're saying they recognise it, what more do you want?
At what point did Ethiopia ever admit to not respecting sovereignty?
You have to understand these Ethiopians are not really that erratic to cancel a deal overnight. They see it as a long term program like the GERD. They are playing a long game while you guys are shifting every minute because you don't have stable foundation.
Speaking like that as a head of state means you don't acknowledge the country you're speaking abouts territory. Of course I understand, Ethiopia has had a functioning government in the past 30 years where we had a total state collapse. They have long term plans, and have planned strategies to get there.Any deal between Ethiopia and Somaliland is not Somalia’s business

Even more with Abiy at the helm. The way he used Eritrea to help him massacre Tigrays and then turn on him was crazy. I honestly don't have that much hope in our people atm, but IA we get to build a stable government with everybody on board and a strong national defense. That's our only hope.
AUSSOM starts before his inauguration, and tbh with you I don’t think Trump cares much for "shithole" countries as he likes to call Africa. This meeting came at the request of Abiy, I see it as a win for now. But I fully expect them to continue being destabilising factor in building back our country.I think HSM is worried that Ethiopia would get into AUSSOM. Trump wouldn't give him everything he wanted like deciding which countries can participate in AUSSOM. At least here he got a statement that looked like the MoU was canceled and he survives politically for a few months.
Without Trump there's no way he would met with Abiy. Same with Ruto looking nervous and trying to arrange things. They were both Democrat favourites now they have to survive with what they have.
Everyone saying the MoU is dead is just politicking for Somalia, they know the truth.
