I have one fundamental question for all that support an independent SL(or any other qabiil state), what is the defining characterstic that makes SL a seperate "nation" from Somalia?
:cosbyhmm:

Arbitrary lines the white man drew on a map in the colonial era. <-- this is basically their entire rationale, they see themselves as successor of a british protectorate, so embarrassing. The antithesis to everything the late great Sayyid Abdallah Hassan fought for

"The South is too unstable."
"Isaaq genocide."

I can somewhat understand the Isaaq genocide, but then again, if they were gonna be a 100% Isaaq state, why are they fighting over Khatumo? The 4.5 system argument is the only acceptable argument imo.

Or Not? Are u giving up already? Y'all want from "we'll get recognition" to "recognition or not" next is gonna be "Even tho we ain't getting recognition, laakiin we're doing good" :mjlol:

I have always stated that recognition is only good when we make our institutions strong, holding our leaders accountable as well as my people to learn how to be self reliance.

In the meantime why don't you address me when you stop Amisom running over your people day and night :damedamn:

Both of those points still don't warrant them making a separate "nation" for themselves. The fact that some fools think Isaaq is a nation shows where we are as Somalis. Qabiil is a curse that needs to be eliminated.
:kanyehmm:

There are many non-western nations across the world that have abandoned qabiil, for example the Turks, Japs & the Han chinese and look where those nations are today. Somalis should only be loyal to family & nation.

Because they believe in colonial British borders.

Somaliland formed a bilateral union with Somalia in 1960 to form the Somali Republic. It was never an entity within Somalia which is the former Italian colony.

The people of Somaliland fought against the government of the Somali Republic and won the civil war. When the Somali Republic collapsed, all tribes within Somaliland met in Burco to form the constitution for the new Somaliland Republic.

As victors of the civil war they were within their natural rights decide whether to stay united or declare their independence.

And you have Italian colonial borders.:draketf:
The natural borders will be restored in due time. No need to argue about that. :mjohreally:

The people of Somaliland fought against the government of the Somali Republic and won the civil war. When the Somali Republic collapsed, all tribes within Somaliland met in Borama to form the constitution for the new Somaliland Republic.

As victors of the civil war they were within their natural rights decide whether to stay united or declare their independence.

Nobody won the civil war... :ivers:

Sxb you have to look at the bigger picture. Anyone can set up an imaginary state & proclaim a new nation, but you still haven't answered my question. Do you have your own language, culture, genes e.g.?

I'm not only against SL walaal, all qabiil states should not exist. In the end, we are all part of the Somali nation, if we're going to progress as a people we'll need to abandon qabiil.
