Also reported that 10 others of a group loyal to Mukhtar Robow have been killed.

Most people agree that giving impunity and rehabilitating former AS leaders isn't the answer to defeating them. In the past, we have seen them go into politics with the likes of Madobe. Should we consider it? Is it as simple as just killing them all or are there other ways?

Sad I remember when he brought his then 6 year son to front lines in 2006. Lol He was asked why he brought his child to the battle field, he said his dream for him and his son to become martyrs.

Why was he killed? What if his son didn't want anything to do with Al Shabab and hated them?

Al Shabab wouldn't kill one of their own without strapping a vest on him.

He was part of his father's militia that defected from AS. He was killed in some gunfight between the two in the outskirts of a village in Bay province

Currently, there aren't many high-level defections from AS like Robow for the government to do the same thing all over the south. Another factor to consider is the clan dynamics on the ground because that's what matters at the end of the day. SFG's best bet is the somali troops getting trained inside the turkish military base and when those boys join the field that's when the government will get the upper hand. They'll do more for Somalia in weeks than AMISOM did in the past two years ( they never went on an offensive the past two years)

We kind of say this a lot but Ugandan troops were the reason Mogadishu was captured to begin with

I remember the kid from BBC or Aljazeera report in 2006.
Ilaahay ha u naxariisto as he left the ranks of alshabab and died as martyr.

I dont believe the turkish trained forces can fully destroy alshabab.Alshabab dont attack head on instead simply ambush and evade.
