I dont believe the turkish trained forces can fully destroy alshabab.Alshabab dont attack head on instead simply ambush and evade.

I agree, somalia is using the big army approach, but who is this army going to fight? shabab hardly ever fights conventionally. They lay bombs, and sometimes send in a few armed men no more then 5 to kill as many as possible. They aren't about fighting shabab, they just want high death casualties so the govt looks incompetent and people lose faith in it. That's all their looking for!!! If they wanted to overthrow the govt, they would start fighting conventionally which they clearly don't. it's clear their objective is to make Somalia govt look weak, incompetent and thru this have it's donors turn it's back on it!!!

I sometime suspect they are used by opposition politicians and businessmen to blackmail the govt into getting lucrative contacts or positions in the govt and if the govt fails to deliver, I think they call shabab to start making life hell for the govt!!! That's all I think shabab is really there for. It's not about governing at all.

We need to train our intelligence building capabilities.The sudden increase in explosions in peacefull part of somalia,such as puntland, is directly related to the reduction intelligence gathering capabilities as well as corruption.I remember reading about Siad Barre sending alot of people to the Soviet Union so they could train Somali police officers and secret agents.This is how he kept a tight hold on power.We need to do the same now.

Yes if we increase our intelligence capacity and foil their attacks before it happens, this will mean a-lot of people who were working in the background will get identified and the troublemakers start come out of the shadows!!! This will see a huge reduction in this type of war cuz the guys in the shadows facilitating this will see it as a bad investment if their exposed having a hand with shabab, they will basically tell shabab it's time go your not a safe investment anymore worrying about the federal authority strong intelligence capacity and it's repercussion on themselves if the attack gets foiled and people get arrested and background player names are identified. We already know opposition politicians and businessmen have a hand in this, but we can't prove it, this will seal their fate as it will be proof!!!

I would set up a Somali Clan And Religious Elder council of all Somalis and give them the power to remove all arms from everyone clan and to stockpile it and have it monitored and controlled by trusted clan elders of each clans. No weapons can move from the stock-pile across the nation without consent from this body, no clan can make a military decision without the consent of this elder even state and federal government. If they aren't going to agree to a fair playing field like that, then start removing those clan elders from the country as they are not helpful but destructive.

I would then say we are going to sit down and resolve every political problem using our xeer system as insipiration. If it was good for our forefathers its good for us plus it has some proof it actually works in rural areas and in all honesty Somalis regardless where they are still holding to those tribal values even in the west let alone in Somalia. I find it funny when people say xeer is just for camel herders, that's not true. If your still tribal then it's relevant to you regardless where u r be it coastal, farms, or in the diaspora. You still hold onto those beliefs and without using it's wisdom to answer your needs it's pointless.

So the Xeer would be like the guiding document on power sharing, taxation on each region, resource sharing, etc. It will be tough but if a large clan pays a higher portion of blood money then a small clan, that clan should also get a higher portion of resource sharing after-all they put in more then a small clan. We could even use it to ratio out everything in Somalia just following the dia structure on each clan!!!

Once that is there, I don't honestly care what type of govt we take, be it federal, central, democrat, islamic, it really won't matter as it's backed up by a hard system at the core. Like Iran it's govt is pointless, it's real power is the ayatollah. That's how I want to see Somalia, I want the govt just to be the bedsheet on the bed but the actual bed must be our culture.

I would probably take it a step further, at the end I would say who-ever breaks this contract, all elders religious and clan must immediately authorize the use of force as they are clearly an enemy of the state and want to defy a system that has worked for our forefathers for centuries. Force must be used then and all state and federal authorities must unite on the perpertuator. That's also missing in Somalia some real true justice style at the end where they will shit themselves if they play games!!! We could add heaps of stipulations like no foreigners allowed, or whatever stipulation somalis feel is important. And have it backed up with that justice style system.

I want a system where we all eat or well a die type system. Like NATO in a way!!! I want our govt just to be implementors nothing more. I don't want them to guide the govt, I want that to be guided by this nato style council of clan elders and religious elders who all hand over required works need to be done to the govt not this nonsense of elections which is just to make false promises and then do nothing for 5 years. We want an intelligent board like the ayatollah sitting at the back of our govt guiding it, the govt remains a mouthpiece and if they don't deliver within a set period of time which they agree on, the council removes the govt immediately!!!

We want this body to be like supreme body of the land, where they review and audit every damn institution, noone escapes their grasp!!! totally feared yet respected becuz their guided by intelligence and reasoning not majority rules!!!

Wow imagine that sort of body with so much power in it cuz it has all the weapons stockpiled plus all the clans in one body along with religious elders. No1 will escape them. I cud be sitting in a ministry and if they audit me and say why u not performing like this other ministry, I cud be removed cuz they have a huge constitution or xeer which means if they dont do it properly, it will all start to collapse!!!

They will get results each three months and share it among it's members on the council and say 'waryaa' ina adeerkaga ayaa bishan ka hoseeya qabiil kale. If it can't be justified why that is the case, it's time to remove. If anyone inside the board refuses, they know the consequence, dalka dhan ba burburayo hadi axdigi iyo xeerki na dhextaalay lagu shaqaynaynin. Plus when we have all clans involved, it has better auditing mechanism, other clans will watch other clans for performance where-as when its just one clan there is less caring
