Musa gives Ethiopia a port and a military base on the Gulf of Aden. It's over

I don't like Sisi, but his speech was not overtly offensive. He talks about Somalia and the potential that was lost during these thirty years of instability, and on the one hand, he alludes to the Arab Spring that has already destroyed countries like Syria, Libya and Yemen. This could have happened in Egypt, but it avoided it, so in the end it is in Egypt's interest to support Somalia

Egypt watching Palestinian women and kids die at its border they don’t care about Somalia they want chaos

HSM looking to swap foreigners for foreigners troops down south to kick out Ethiopia (Eritrea Egypt ) Djibouti at least Somali. stable Somali states not helping to close gap because there is not trust and enemtiy so foreigners brought to babysit

Somaliland and awdal can figure out what’s best for them. No recognition coming either way . Ethiopia always dominated behind scene now they coming out from shadow and leadership feeling embarrassed about truth. The deal will be in Ethiopia favor but same case with Turkey and UAE as well

Somethings brewing in Awdal.

The week is a make or break for the FGS. If there is no action then it will expose the leniancy on the secessionist admin. The diplomatic war has been won. But now we need to see some action taken in North Somalia.

Egypt is not our ally either. They called Somalia a failed state in front of HSM. I can never get over HSM’s stomach for humiliation. He must have a kink for it or something.
Egypt is unreliable, yes you are correct with that, but El-sisi comment wasn't to humiliate HSM or Somalia, but to fearmonger his enraged people. El-sisi fears an uprising, and is using this moment to warn Egyptians; if you make an uprising, you could end up like Somalia.

It was for his interest, not for humiliation of HSM.

What is brewing, troop build up of ENDF?

Saying it in front of HSM though was part of it. If he said after HSM left, people wouldn't think about it much but in front of his face, while all he could do was continue smiling. It was a practical demonstration of what he was warning against.

This has to be it, as they have other arab countries in their midst which they consider failed states aswell. Not just us, so it’s nothing personal. Actions are more important than what they say about us, so I’ll judge off how they help us.

Are UAE and KSA aligned on foreign policy? They both participate on the same fronts in Yemen and Qatar. KSA might be just as bad as UAE
Nah bro MSB and MBZ ha a falling out, and now they have different foreign policies

They backed different sides in the Sudanese civil war, and they don’t agree on how to solve the Yemeni civil war either

I expect them to engage in several proxy wars throughout the region in the next decade

Here’s an article describing the UAE/KSA proxy war in Sudan

They also use Syria a lot in the state owned media, sometimes Libya as well. But mostly Syria. Somalia was in use by many nation including Egypt from 2010-2014. Then Syria took the stage.

Even the Libyans government used Somalia as an example of a failed state during the Arab spring

The government at that time said that Libya is a country with different tribes, and if the government collapses it will end up like Somalia. Tbh, he wasn’t wrong

Can you provide me with further details about what is happening in Awdal?

He told it like it is. If Somalia had not collapsed and its economy had grown year by year, where would it have been today? He was highlighting Somalia’s potential and the lost decades while addressing the Egyptian people directly, basically warning them of the dangers that come with instigating state collapse for political gains (Arab Spring) because once you enter that downwards spiral its extremely difficult to get out of it. We see this with Yemen, with Syria, and with Libya, all of them are entering their second decade of instability while Somalia is leaving that situation steadily.

To point this out is not ‘humiliation’ or a sign that Egypt won’t support Somalia militarily and economically, in-fact its the opposite. Though the individuals and entities that are upset with the growing Somali-Egyptian ties and security guarantees will probably frame as such.
The Egyptian president's speech is aimed at the Egyptian people so that they can learn a lesson from the Somali failure.
For example, a father advises his son to avoid drugs by telling him: “My son, look at the neighbor’s son, how he turned out after becoming a drug addict. Therefore, take an example from the neighbor's failed son and do not follow the path of drugs so as not to become like the neighbor's failed son ".

If I didn't know you was a somalidid I would've actually bought into your narrative/spinnings... It's mind blowing how the enemy within us is so dangerous..

Libya atleast has oil and a small population, so any recovery was fairly easy.

That’s true but their natural resources also made them a proxy for different countries like Turkey, UAE, France, Egypt, Russia, etc

Idk how this GNA vs Haftar standoff will last. This can easily go back to being an active conflict

It is clear that the Egyptian President's speech constitutes an insult to Somalia.
How do you say these words in the presence of the Somali president who came asking for help from Egypt, while the Egyptian president is seizing the opportunity to educate the Egyptian people not to be like the Somali people who destroyed their country after their revolution against Siad Barre's government.
In conclusion, the Egyptian President warns the Egyptian people against rebelling against the Egyptian government so that Egypt does not disintegrate , as happened with Somalia.
In fact, the Egyptian president was rude.

The defence minister accompanied the president, so it would be in their interest to pursue a mutually beneficial relationship. Like Egypt build a base where they train Somalis.
