Thats why Allaah says in suuratun Luqmaan
The key word لَهْوَ ٱلْحَدِيثِ is typically used as the proof of music being haram, but can also refer to any sort of distracting entertainment like the singing girls of jahiliyya and probably multihour jaad-chewing marathons. It distracts mans from Allaah's remembrance which should be done actively especially at this time of year
And from mankind is [he] who purchases amusement/entertainment of speech/tales to mislead from the way of Allaah without knowledge and he takes it [the Way] in ridicule- Those, for them is a humiliating punishment.

Facts. Even from personal experience music just makes your heart so hard, that it even just stops you from listening to quran or even praying.
You have to detox for a long time and then you will be able to start listening to quran or praying again. May Allah keep us away from the music Ameen.
