I really like him but I don't like borrowing that kind of terminology.

I'm not saying he's wrong or anything and I really do like him but it makes me sad that we would imitate others.

I don't like how he's doing the funny faces like that. I think it is a problem with the social media thing. It incentivizes acting like a social media celebrity. I don't like how the social media... sort of gimmick type stuff.... gets mixed in with dīn. It makes me sad, for example, when I see people who are supposed to be giving dawah and they have a clickbait title on their YouTube video.

I like him personally, I think he's good, I agree with him in general in terms of what he says but I am just mentioning a few things I don't like.

I don't really blame him. I think it is a problem with the whole system he is a victim of.

When you mingle the ideal with the material, the former is always debased. Both Hijabi and Ayaan are nothing but merchants. Their choice of career (ideologue) forbids them from being honest or consistent or seriously virtuous. One openly mocks, the other degrades by degrees. They co-exist in the same ecosystem. This very video opens with the monger hawking his wares. Defending Allah and his Messenger came afterward. It can't get any more obvious than that.

Of course I don't agree with this user's.... very strange views.... but I actually think she made a good point about Hijab and Ayaan Hirsi both being with the ""same ecosystem". The whole system within which they operate is inherently corrupt. So you have people who are supposed to be giving dawah getting sucked into acting like social media celebrities.

This is why I think we have to go to the serious scholars- people like Sheikh Ibn Baz, Sheikh Uthaymeen, Sheikh Fawzan, etc.

And I think we should respect the scholars and not insult them. I don't necessarily agree with everything the Saudi government does but the scholars aren't responsible for what the government does and we should have respect for the scholars. You have people who foam at the mouth when it comes to Sheikh Fawzan and them- and then who would they have us replace them with? They would have us cut out serious scholars like Sheikh Ibn Baz, Sheikh Fawzan and replace them with people like Mufti Menk, Yasir Qadi.
