So, i get 2 weeks holidays from my job, i wanted first to travel to London but finally i went to San Diego visit my aunt from my dad side cause i haven't see them since she moved there.

My cousin, the eldest and me were talking about life, career perspective, jobs ect, he is 24, he got a degree and start working for some rentails but did'nt like his job and want to change, he told me he wanted to go to Los Angeles and enlist into the police academy, but basically my aunt, his sister and his father tell him not to dod this, that he will be a "race-traitor" i quote them, that this is a disgrace working for kafir ect.

So it is not a disgrace to live in kafir land ? to live in the country who commited the most crimes against Muslims people ? who are probably the biggest islamophobic on the earth ? i don't get it wallahi, i already made a thread about how it's good to have Somali enter the force

Why not get a more safer and stable job. Work in tech or something. I would not want to be a police at all. Also if he has a degree why can't he leverage that?

Had it been police force in oppressive nations under tyrants like much of the Muslim world, then yes I can understand, as those forces are misused for political reasons, and there is no justice in those lands.

Even in those nations the arguments are weak, as you would want pious people leading it including the army to subvert those tyrants.

That's essentially what AKP did, they got there followers to join the police and army on mass and took over after decades.

Your cousin is just looking for a paycheck and career, you have justice and freedom in those nations, don't see any issues, we need Muslims in those forces to counteract the racists.

The police force is a great skill to learn. We Somali have to try everything. You can't live in a country and not want to serve. Also a lot of Somali's in England are cops. I don't understand the meaning for race traitor if you Somali ? Also there some cops who make a tone of money once you get higher up

Cops make great money in America. Police work is easy way to break into the middle class. After 20 years you can retire with a solid pension( 7-9k a month).

In a lot of big cities a decent amount of police officers are earning 6 figures as well.

It is a dangerous job. Racism is also very big in law enforcement careers. Either one has to be like Kamala Harris where he (or she) kisses the arses of the bigots and condemns many poor minorities to jail or one has to live with his (or her) conscious and seek employment in other fields.
