Despite being from NW I lack any mota, Interesting. @giire12 is this true for you also? could be a shared trait among coastal SM.
I am not sure myself, I think last time I checked was a while back but sometimes I was getting 0 and in other calculations it was showing low percentage about 2%. I think mine depends on the source selected, like Sudanese or Nilote? One of them showed while the other it was absent.

You could be right, but than Akisho live with other reer galbeed as well like ogaden, surre, biyomal, ciisa and gadabgursi too in places like Diredawa, and jigjiga. I know Akisho live in Hargeisa, arabsiyo, gebiley, allaybadey, wajaley with HA. But they also live in dhulka halista, from jigjiga to Harar to fafan ila Bale.

Bad sources may usually show additional things which aren't really there. I'm gonna guess the calculations that don't give you mota are from the best sources.

Yes that's correct, but I believe some users preferred the Sudanese coordinates sample others preferred Nilotic coordinates samples.

I was on over at talking to someone who is Geri I believe, he had the following to say about Jaarso, basically they are assimilated Oromo who got incorporated into the Somali abtirsi, they are autosomally Somali, it looks like it's recent(last 150 years).

The Akisho have a similar history, they have been assimilated by HA, but I believe the Buursug are Somali nothing pointing them to have Oromo origins.

He raised good points, Jaarso origins is somewhat alot more simpler and straightforward but the origins of Bursuug, Akisho and Garre is complex because of their lineage, tradition and location (af-tirsin, dhaqan iyo deganka).

Akisho for example are adamant of their Dir nimo. As Habar Awal, I confirm we intermarry alot with Akisho since we live in the same regions. Just like how we intermarry with Hartis/gadabgurs/cissa etc because we live in the same regions.

I think Akisho are Somali in Origin and Akisho in Bale and Haraghe got assimilated into the Oromo clans. Firstly the word Akisho is somali in origin which means the living and the word gurre comes from the Oromo which means af gurucan meaning odd language as they could not understand the Akisho language (somali in origin). They are somali in my opinion unless someone can show Akisho dna or y-full is of Oromo origin.

Akisho are Somalized Oromos same for the Jaarso.Gurgure & Garre are Oromized Somalis (or in Garre case Somaloid)

I would say it's the opposite, Garre are somalized Oromos, as in Oromo in origin assimilated somalis whereas Akhiso are somali but some were assimilated to the Oromos. The reason I say this is cause of linguistics, tradition and their location of distribution. I also believe 95% of the population hold the same opinion as mine but I could be wrong. Did any Akisho do a dna or y-full so far?

You would have had a point but we have evidence of a Somaloid Af-Garre language which has mostly been lost due to the recent language shift. Garre are a non-Somali (Af-Maxaa) Somaloid speakers who became Boranized. Akisho & Jaarso are well known by both Somali & Eastern Oromos for having Oromo origins. Gurgure are solidly Dir Somalis tho and I'm pretty sure were mentioned in the Futuh Al Habasha

What about the Barsuug? I know they settle amongst the Arap.

I can't see Somalis allowing Oromo that deep into Somali territory, so that is a valid point

Quranyoow are Dir within Garre, the Garre are one of the earliest groups to head south, they are the equivalent of Gurgurah, they were traders, so wouldn't put them past assimilating groups as they moved deeper inland, they historically resided in Lower Shabelle before pushing west, I assume the remnantsthat got left behind got assimilated to Borana oromos.

If we can get Quranyoow tested we can get tmrca of the split between them and other Mahe Dirs.

Now the Gurre and Wardey within Dir have Oromo origins I believe.

Exactly, because of their location it makes no sense. I understand Garre and Wardey strong links to Oromo and their location of origins is majority within Oromo regions. Maybe Akisho are very successful in assimilating to other clans that all historic traces of their past are easily erased 🤔. They also expanded quickly into dir territory rapidly with mass numbers. That's the only possible explanation.

They were part of the strike group that tried to enter SL but failed. They arrived during the Oromo migrations same with the Jaarso. Alxamdulilah my bloodline is pure Isaaq and didn't mix with these folks directly
