How is Sland more stable politically when they have a literal armed faction that formed due to their elections that wants to take full control of western Sanaag? I get elections sounds good on paper but would PL be more stable if we had elections and an armed faction formed capable of taking control of all of Bari?

Yeah it looks good on paper and answers the western world, but what's the point if your house starts to burn down as a result of satisfying people in london or washington. We need to achieve the pillars in our constitution. First one is secure our damn border, how can we have a constitution that clearly lists our jurisdiction and we are not securing that. Wax macqul ma aha if we can't achieve that pillar, how are we supposed to achieve democracy pillar? War tan yari ha lagu guulaysto intanan tan wayn loo boodin.

Even if we secure our border, we still got a long way to go in terms of our police, parliament, ministries, court systems, and in general our institutions as a whole. Without doing these things, what's the point of giving locals a vote when the government is non-existent in practise.

Ka waran guri aan dhisanayn kadib la oranayo kalaya madaxda gurigina dorta iyo gurigi waba eber kkkkk

Somaliland is a bloody joke. It has no institutions that are respected by the people. They only vote for their president, waa guri eber ah niyahow meeshu and look at the problems they have every election. Can't you wait till we build an effective house that we RESPECT as puntlanders oo aan laysku gab-gabsan doonin? PL is under construction. When built, yes move across. Not before

@DR OSMAN You seem to think that the conditions that prevail in Puntland today will be in place whenever you feel like Puntland is developed enough to become democratic. There is something called institutional path dependence. The more you delay a change in institutions the harder it will become to change into something else. The longer Puntland remains under single man rule, the harder it will be for it to become democratic. Every year that goes by with this current system in place, entrenches the interests that this current system benefits. Puntland will simply become another Djibouti in 15 years if we maintain our current path towards single man rule. Puntland is at a political dead end, that is the truth.

Democracy is not something you can choose to implement anytime, there is a period of time during which it is possible to entrench it, and that period of time is closing for Puntland.

@Thegoodshepherd Dont worry so much about the democracy part. We came up with it first. In 98 it was in our 'charter' not Somaliland which copied after reading our charter. We will civilly put it up to a debate and vote among Puntlanders if we should continue building the house and structures or go to the polls without a strongly built house. It's quite a massive topic, I prefer we build courts, district councils, create laws, have ministries that are perfect and unquestionable by anyone, ending corruption, have a proper taxation system, create infrastructure, hospitals, schools, roads, airports, and most importantly industries for people to seek work in.

The biggest area though I want to see improvements is, mogadishu. They are constantly in the way of PL development, we need a real policy around this area because I am sick of this back n forth shit with them for so many years, it's just wasting Somali people time. But I also know they are aborigines so it's to be expected. We need a real final solution towards mogadishu like the way we have final solution about federalism, siyasad oo xoogan sida federalka oo aan liqliqo ku jirin sida hada oo back n forth la yahay every few months baan ku farxi laha.

This idea to create 'federation army' is great. We need all the regional govt to also have a shared policy and shared action on mogadishu. First qodob. Any political interference in any regional admin will result in all ties cut to mogadishu irrespective. 2nd qodob - Any mis-use of foreign aid or breaking any agreements reached with any administration will result in all regional govt cutting ties. 3. any sidetracking from agreed upon agreements all regions say bye to mogadishu. 4. any timetable not met in mogadishu bye bye to all regions.

U can list so many stipulations and if all federal regions sign it, it's over for mogadishu and it's games. We can have regional interests but also we need 'shared federal interests' between all states. This CIC is a good start, but we need a charter towards mogadishu. We cant just wait for mogadishu to interfere and respond when it happens, we cant wait for a good leadership in mogadishu, we need make sure they know OUR RULESSSSSSSSSSSSS and have them PLAY BY OUR RULES.

Let all regional govts throw in their ideas and finally seal it with all.

I was shocked with Kheyre saying he will hold talks with SL. It's not in our interest to talk to them, it's best they remain isolated niyahow so when our politics is achieved, noone can go back and change it, either isaaq joins or it stays isolated while the rest of the nation powers on. I believe in a Darfur model, while the rest of the nation continues on and with time it will be sooooooooo backwards bro, their ppl will be begging us. Plus Isaaq security attacks on Mogadishu only help PL as we can then argue since mogadishu isn't safe, redirect all to puntland. I am suprised we even include them in projects.

We shouldn't. We should argue there is political crisis and therefore untill political crisis is resolved we want no projects from international community with Somaliland. We are being way to nice wallahi. We need strong man politics. We should make Hargeisa like SSC is disputed and untill resolved no-one is allowed any contact with them
