I do not know why Ethiopia would need to preserve the Somali language if it is already spoken in the country of Somalia, perhaps for the other minority languages the objection would fit but these can already be put in a museum to preserve them. The unity, cohesion, coexistence of a nation seems to me much more important.AMHARIC IS NOT MY LANGUAGE AND IT DOESNT GIVE ME ANY RESPECT.
WHAT RESPECT HAS IT GIVEN AMHARA PEASANTS THEY ARE STILL IN ABJECT POVERTY.
DO YOU THINK THE GEEZ ALPHABET IS FOOD THAT CAN BE SWALLOWED OR CURRENCY THAT CAN PAY BILLS?
IS GEZZ USED IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH.
MY LANGUAGE IS SOMALI AND ETHIOPIA HAS MORE THAN 100 NATIVE LANGUAGES WHICH NEED TO BE RESPECTED AS PART OF DIVERSITY.
The thing about changing the local language for a foreign one, well we could sell the land to outsiders to occupy it, they will surely make better use of it with their ethnic superiority. Money can't buy everything in life and not every country that speaks English necessarily becomes a millonario
