I have recently noticed that many Somalis do not recognize the current anthem titled "Qolobaa Calankeed". To be honest, I do not recognize it as your country's anthem either because of the "Samo ku waar"-tier tune
In light of this, I will compose the first verse and chorus of the new anthem in English , to be translated to Somali for use as the anthem:
FIRST VERSE
O land of the eternal ancients
O land of the white-bright sun
You, Somalia, land that I love
Ever under pure skies,
Filled with tradition and honor
This timeless country shall live on
CHORUS
Somalis, awaken and support each other
Towards the goal of unity and glory
From the Tana to the Gulf of Aden
And from Ogaden to the long coast
Long live my Somalia, forever!
