Somaliland did a good thing by recognizing them as migrants, this means that Somaliland will remain in control of the situation, if they're refugees they'll stay forever according to the law. What the UN needs to do is declare Ethiopia as a dictatorship and help the Oromo find peace in their country. But what the UN is doing is supporting the regime which which made them flee their country.

At least they'll be Somaliland citizens. They'll have to pledge allegiance to Somaliland and not Ethiopia which they hate any way. Also they have to get ID first and only a minority have been issued ID.

They can have their citizenship revokes, that's always an option. But you're right, in one or two generations they'll give up on Oromia and just have Somaliland instead.
