But Europe 100 years ago, which was much less developed and had a much less uniform education, also had a lower IQ.
Why does everyone have to jump to race and not think about the fact that maybe African countries have a lower average IQ because they have less access to things like education compared to the West? Wouldn't it be smarter to compare the IQ of Sub-saharan Africans living in the West to those of Europeans?
Then, you have fewer confounding factors to throw off the comparison, like living standards or language or education.

Selective pressures increased the IQ in the West more than any other factor in the past century.

Sure people ate better and lived around educated people but that didn't improve their IQ by over 20-30 points.

Remember the difference between an IQ of 70 and 100 is a legal retard and someone able to help build powerplants.

Jobs got more complicated and in order to keep up; only the smartest got decent paying jobs and in turn were the ones picked for marriage.

This didn't happen overnight but if you prevent the dumbest 20% from passing on their genes for around 5 generations you get a dramatic increase in the overall IQ scores.

Not practicing arranged marriages probably helped the cadaans aswell.

AA's didn't have the same opportunities 5-6 generations back; so they kept to a different mate selection strategy.

Somalis practiced arranged marriages for the most parts of our history so there were no selective pressures for higher IQs.

Maybe Somali fathers should request IQ tests of their potential son in-laws before letting them in the house.

Apart from the river region controlled by southern tribes; there were limited water sources near our coast which prevented long term habitation.

Those that did were easy prey for other clans who were aware of their fixed location... same reason why lots of proto-kingdoms failed in Somalia.
