Exactly, the Arabic language does not have a specific word for million.
In the pre-Islamic era and at the time of the Prophet Muhammad, Arabs did not have a specific word for a million. During the reign of Umar ibn al-Khattab, Muslims began to use the expression "alaf alaf ألف ألف " (meaning: thousand thousand ) to refer to a million.
alaf ألف = thousand .
alaf alaf ألف ألف =thousand thousand =( 1000 x 1000 )=million .
But now the Arabs have stopped using the expression "alaf alaf ألف ألف" and instead use the word million.
