I’m not in rage when someone refers to be as Black. If I want to be specific then I say I’m Somali American.

It’s a social grouping. Clearly if we were in Africa where saying “I’m Black” would be redundant, then Somali would be our only ID.

Indians are not from Africa so they aren't black. Bajuni people are from Africa so they are considered black. Xamar Cad Cads are considered mixed because they are a mix of many different races.

Their skin color. Somalis on average have mariin (brown skin color) which is still dark.
To be black, you must be from Subsaharan Africans. Indians, Austrailian Abos, and Melanisians all have dark skin colors but they're not from Africa.

P.S We were the “original” blacks since biblical times. NE Africa was the first place outsiders had contact with us and labeled as “Kush” or Black people cause that’s how we were viewed by Europeans and Middle Easterners.

you do realize that genetic samples from current DNA tests aren't accurate at all? (the somali population)
if they got better samples I'm sure this well known theory would be proven.

I also never said I was superior to other blacks I just said that Somalis and other horners by the scientific aren't black and are one of the only population who are caucasoid and have neanderthal admixture. Somalis are a subgroup of Caucasian.

Somalis are their own race of people and should be proud to be label themselves as somalis.

I'm not naive enough to think that people don't register me as "black" walking on the street and whatnot. But that doesn't change the overly simplistic nature of racial classifications.

Greeks and Italians both look "swarthy" in a way, and yet they are "white", but Arabs are almost treated as their own separate race, socially speaking. But what's the difference between Arabs and Mediterranean people really? Not much visually speaking. This is what i mean by "race" being a fictitious social construction.
