Didn't see that coming with Nordic countries, I didn't follow the local paranoia emerging there. This is one of the weaknesses of neutrality posture U can get poked by the global franchises and their sphere of influence or vassals to make a move out of neutrality.

The West always list their grievances in a one sided narrative yet when a conflict emerges yet want us not to use reason that their is always 2 sides by default to any conflict and the truth is usually somewhere in between. Russia isn't going to be a middle power country, that is you guys unrealistic expectations.

It will join BRICS or Islamist Erdogan or combination if they are given their top spot back as the CEO of the western franchise or theatre which is clearly up for offer to them. They tried to resolve it internally with you guys and U kept slapping them in the face.

The Russians are finished there facing a demographic crisis ,international embarrassment over Ukraine , and a pathetic resource dependent economy with a GDP smaller than a Texas

You have to admit the Americans won the Cold War with the Russians

There is this huge value difference between Russia and the west is what I've noticed at a more root causes and cold war, politics, interests, idealogy are more superficial. They did experience a different value system especially due to the Mongols influence, they weren't apart of the liberal renaissance in the west either. Either way the two cannot stand each other and yes the world will work it's interest where it suits them.

If I were one of the Nordic countries, I would advocate for joining NATO. In fact, they should have joined immediately after the Cold War ended. Although Russia is currently declining, it has the potential to rebuild, as it has done in the past.

Get nuke and better weapons.

Recently, there has been a war in Ukraine, Trump with Canada and Greenland, and Bush's war in the Middle East should have shown most countries what happens when a strong power comes knocking.

Europe had this renaissance wasn't overnite tho but that was merely focused on material progress but America had its democracy revolution and then that spread to Europe to disregard it's old monarchies with alot of teething issues, then Europe went into imperialism and finally fascism, fell post WW2 and our world order period really starts from then.

Russia is still very old school mentality might is right they won't shift from that unless due to extreme circumstances, to be quite frank the west was alot like that untill post WW2 and some say still the same just with more information theatre manipulation and power which by the way isn't as strong as it used to be due to social media putting anything and everything to doubt leading to noone believing in anything anymore which itself is quite a scary situation.

Russia knows the old school mentality is still inside the west and use information warfare to kick start it which their elites try to crack down. It's a war of values between Russia and West. Plus I don't think they do old school mentality of might is right due to some hatred of others, they just have comparative edge to the west in that world order make up and thinking style and the west is scared of that edge.
