Novel about the Mad Mullah!

Hi guys! I would like to write a historical fiction novel about the Dervish state. Could you guys send pictures, ideas, and/or warnings about what I would do. The plot is akin to movies like Lawrence of Arabia and Dances with Wolves.

i want a British soldier as one and a dervish on the other hand ti show how the British unfairly demonized the dervish movement as a whole.

As a british man there's already a popular one called in the Mullah's grip. The main character being the mullah himself would be nasty aswell, i would recommend a commander like abshir dhoore
