Dabshid is a Cushitic custom .

Exactly, i don't know why some folks are trying to connect Dabshid to nowruz which is a completely foreign celebration.

And stop calling it nowruz. It's not the Persian/afghani/pakistani culture. This is strictly Somali. And it's called dabshiid. People have been celebrating this in Benadir region for ages. Similar celebrations can be found in other cultures.
