After almost 30 years since the war. I don’t think Mogadishu can serve as a capital. It’s been to infiltrated by too many foreigners with all kinds of agents. It can’t attract FDI because all you hear is someone getting shot for or hoards of people got killed from suicide bombings. It hurts the image of the country as a whole. If you can’t get FDI to build infrastructure and create jobs well forever be in this cycle of clan killings of other clans over dusty territories and our enemies will always take advantage of us.

What do you suggest then? What City even comes close to Muqdisho? What city is good enough to be our capital?

Anywhere but Mogadishu. We need to put our pride aside for the sake of the country and the people. Most of our problems today comes from poverty but we think it’s based on clans. it’s deeper than that. Most developing countries have one thing that they focus to bring about stability when shit hits the fan. its to eradicate poverty. It’s a proven fact.

I’m not a qabilist so would not be opposed to the new capital being anywhere in Puntland. I’m from the south and I’m not ashamed to admit The south is not ideal if we want to move forward. However, the north would have to create an inclusive invironment which wont discriminate in anyway shape or form to all clans. Which is quite a hard thing to ask from all somalis regardless of there where they are located.
