I know that from experience, and my parents lived in Xamar when the war broke out and got nothing out but the clothes on their back and even 27 years after only 1 of the 3 houses of our family has been returned :)

It does not change that we must admit our own qabil failings in order to make the others admit their violation of our rights, and most Somali persons were victims, not the abusers especially the women :)
Why should I as a cumar maxamud apologise and suffer for what a Mx lunatic did when he also oppressed my people? f*ck that a civil war is brewing and my people are hitting the gym and getting fit, you should get on the phone to Ethiopia and Kenya and tell your people to do the same :)

@DalJecel60 am I right or am I right?:)

I feel you remind me of a former user, @waraabe, you are very good a ad hominem arguments :)

You shouldn't suffer or apologise but at the very least recognition that the picture is nuanced than this Hawiye bashing thread setting the stage for :)

I find it suspicious of how y'all are so reminiscent of the past but neglecting the future in return :)

The hawiyes and especially the isaaq was violated for many years prior to 1991 and treated worse, forgot that part, huh? :)

On a another part it always breaks my heart to see my people in such destitute that they resort to begging foreigners to protect them :)

There was no Darood in 1995 when that footage was taken. No need to blame Darood for the Hawiye on Hawiye crime.

No foreigner is protecting my people:)

That is simply not true, many returned a few years after the war, though that is likely inter-clan fighting between Hawiye :)

That is simply not true, as I've worked in the EU and knows that funds and ressources are sent to rebuild the secruity infrastructure of Puntland, without those funds they'd be fewer soldiers if not outright greater faillure to pay them :)

KULTA

f*ck you im from Mudug
Wait a minute, my nigga lost his life damn prolly wasnt married shit mayne died without tasting the malab shit foqul shit ma nigga breathing his last breath shit hate to see young faaraxs die for nothing f*ck these old ass politicians f*ck all of them

That was what many hawiye and especially Isaaq were asked to do, when indiscriminate use of the state monopoly of violence was used on the innocent and it led to the way we are today, let's us learn from the failings of the past :)

The war didn't start in 1991 and the crimes that preceded it haven't been getting mentions by Daroods, in the same way the horrows of the aftermath have been mentioned by the respective qabils, I seek the nuanced truth without bias (or less bias at least) :)

If it was about correcting these supposed pre-1991 "crimes" you talk about, the hawyies and issaqs wouldn't have welcomed all the top officials from the Siad Barre regime into the highest positions of their rebel movements.

It was always about one thing: clan. It was never about responding to crimes. If it was, they would have limited their anger to the Barre regime and its henchmen. They wouldn't have made their clansmen from the Barre regime their leaders.

In your desperate attempt to appear impartial, you elide these facts. It's either because you are ignorant of them, or you are a dishonest . Either way, not a good look.

You could also have said that the Siad Barre regime could have limited its violations of basic human rights only to the traitors of the time, mainly Hawiye iyo Isaaq rebels supported by Ehitiopia, but sadly many innocent people of all clans were indiscriminately tortured and killed, and as such the other clans didn't feel the need for a proportional response either as precedent was set :)

It is true that clans are wishfully forgetful about the crimes commited by their own, it is the somali way of hypocrisy, but I think at heart multiple factors played a role in the demise pre-dating the 1991, and one of the main ones were qablism but also the fight for power to rule the Somali republic combined with foreign influence that continues to this day :)
