I think the prosecutors thinking is that if they charge him 1st degree, his lawyers can provide enough defense to make the jury conclude it’s not beyond a reasonable doubt that he intended to kill him. That’s how Zimmerman got off. And it’s good they added a manslaughter charge in there. Zimmerman wasn’t even charged with that.
