Even in Afgooye, factories used to make food and help fight famines were destroyed, It makes no sense, you can argue all day about how you hate Siad Barre and how he was corrupt, but you brought a whole new level death and destruction. It really sucks that a modern city known worldwide as the pearl of the Indian Ocean, in which all Somalis invested in was destroyed for no reason. People really downplay the impact of what happened. Wallahi it's heartbreaking

Ironically he went to west africa a country called togo where business isn't their 'forte' and if u open up a shop, u got the market to yourself, where ppl line up buying from u. I agree with you walaashay. Puntland progression and success needs to happen because the Federal system depends on it. If not, it will lead to a Farmaajo-like figure who will push for centralization that Somalia won't ready for at least 50-75 years imo. What happened after 91' made people idolize what they had lost and has lead to worship of Barre, even within the ranks of former USC, SNM etc you can see the idolization of Barre in people like Muse Bixi no matter how hard they try to hide it. I am not a Neo-Kacaanist nor a fan of him but I can acknowledge some of the things he was able to achieve but having a figure is dangerous to the current system which can benefit any region that wants to develop on their own without interference. If a region a corrupt and do not develop they have no one to blame but themselves
